La Conner, Historic Seafront Town
Music by Big Daddy Weave – I can only imagine
Historic town of La Conner. Washington. When you come to the Skagit Valley, Mount Vernon and La Conner in the Spring time, take in the Daffodils during March and the Tulip Festival the entire month of April, you can not help but feel happiness and joy. From the sounds of the birds and such outstanding colors. The Tulip Festival in Skagit County is a much anticipated 32 year old yearly event for the month of April. The magical tulip fields bring hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to admire the multicolored fields. The largest festival of any kind in the State of Washington with as many as one million visitors during the month. Visit the famous Roozengaarde and Tour the many artistic flower gardens. And to know that some people have gone to such great lengths to create these gardens, just for people's enjoyment.
More tulip, iris, and daffodil bulbs are produced here than in any other county in the U.S. and second in the world.
The tulips are preceded by the splendor of the snow geese migration and daffodil fields in March. Its absolutely beautiful. Be sure to bring your camera. Its interesting to see so many people taking pictures and artists with easels creating paintings which capture the beauty.
Other activities that you can do are not only listed on our website we also include entertaining music videos of stunning photography for highlights of places to see and things to do.
After 24 years in the business of selling homes, I have a deep understanding for what’s important to sellers and buyers. I have worked in high and low market’s, high and low price ranges, and a wide geographical area ranging from Pierce County to Skagit Valley, including Snohomish County and King County.
For Sellers: I spend a significant amount of time guiding them toward the best marketing approach for their home. My background in construction and design helps me “see” what needs to be done to get the highest price possible. It’s about careful observation of the neighborhood, best strategy and competitive pricing. I always encourage sellers to make the changes that will result in a higher sales price. I lean heavily on the facts and statistics in the area. I make sure sellers have extensive information about the market and how they fit in so they can make an informed choice. As a seller (a number of times) I know what it feels like to be in that worrisome place! No one wants to be disappointed by hiring an agent who over promises and under delivers.
For Buyers: My background in design and construction gives me a creative edge that often helps the buyer “see” things about a house they might have otherwise missed. I often recognize trouble areas before the inspector arrives. I know what changes will make a difference in the livability of a home and where to spend money for the best return on the dollar. I help buyers determine the market value of homes based on the facts available. As a buyer, I believe it’s reasonable to expect good reliable information. Buying a home is a big milestone in the average person’s life, it’s important. I make sure buyers will be ready for their purchase by guiding them to reputable mortgage professionals to assure their chances to win in a competitive market. No one wants to be disappointed by losing the home of their dreams.
There is a lot more to do and see in the region than just the Tulip
Festival. The scenery is spectacular; with snow capped mountains
surrounding the area. If the weather is not cooperating, go for a drive
around on the country roads.
One of the things I like to do is ride my bicycle and look at old historic barns. There are still a lot of dairy farms in the area.
Our Hope
Island Cottage on wheels allows the freedom to experience living simply!
Consider the idea of being able to relocate when desired, and to use less
resources of time, energy, and money. Our cottage on wheels includes a
kitchen, living room, bathroom, sleeping loft, and a two person Sauna. We chose
a vaulted ceiling, dormers, and skylights to create an open and
livable-floor plan.
We used
local non-toxic materials in the building process and invested for energy
efficiency. The floor and wall cavities have spray foam insulation creating a
warm, quiet, and extra solid space.
Our
design plan includes the luxuries we weren't willing to leave behind. We had to
challenge our own views of what we needed and what we wanted. In other words we
didn't need an extra size shower, sauna, or bathroom sink cabinet, Your tiny
house should be created around what's important to you!
Here are the things that were important to us:
- Safe stairway to the sleeping loft: we used the space under as part of the kitchen, every extra inch was used for storage
- A comfortable space to sit, visit, lounge: we included storage behind and below the couch
- Lots of windows, light, & volume; we live in Washington, there are many grey days here!
- Bathroom including; shower with enough shoulder-room for a large person, private dressing area with sink and cabinet
– storage-closet for hanging clothes, sink & cabinet with storage, and flushing toilet.
- Kitchen including; refrigerator with separate freezer, microwave/ Convection oven, large sink with plenty of counter spaces, and sit down eating area
Remember, each choice represents what's truly important to you, so think carefully!
